The mission of the Advancement and Alumni Relations department is to lead and inspire meaningful engagement and philanthropic support to advance Fleming Collegeās mission and vision to empower students with the innovative education, research and real-world experiences they need to build better lives, better communities and a better world.
We offer connections and support to 85,000 alumni around the world. Our goal is to to engage alumni — and students as future alumni ā in the life of the College. We do this with multiple aims of enriching the lives of our communities and building support among them so that all can benefit from and contribute to the Collegeās achievements. To achieve these goals we:
- Create and support programs, activities and events that connect alumni and friends to each other, to current students and to our local communities and corporate partners
- Offer services that provide value to alumni and friends
- Produce communications that help alumni and friends stay abreast of the latest developments at Fleming
On the development side we are responsible for securing funds from private sources (corporate, foundation, individuals) to help enhance the teaching and learning environments at Fleming and increase access to students through donor funded awards and bursaries. To date we have raised over $21 million in support of capital projects, equipment, program and student support. Over 600 annual student awards in the form of bursaries, scholarships and academic awards exist because of donor support. Bursaries can be accessed through the Financial Aid website.
The Advancement and Alumni Relations Office is locatedĀ in the Farmhouse (lower level)Ā at the Sutherland Campus. You can reach our general line by dialing ext. 1509.
