The Wet Lab is a fully capable science lab designed around the messy assignments here at the college. Students and staff can sign out the lab for assignments where easy access to a sink, or the fume hoods may be required. This room can be set up to accompany a variety of different tasks so please speak to Derrick if you have something in mind.

PREP LAB – ROOM 304

The Prep Lab is the brain of the Bio-Diversity Commons. Here you will find our helpful staff that can assist you in a variety of topics. Primarily this is where either the Technologists or student workers will be working from.

Equipment for sign out is stored in this area much like a library service. When equipment is required it must be signed out by one of the Bio-Commons staff. Students must provide valid student ID in order obtain equipment or have a valid student number.

If you are staff and are interested in having something left here for students to utilize please email Biocommons techs prior to dropping it off. If you require equipment for a class, please contact Biocommons techs ahead of time so they can prep the equipment for you.

SCHEDULED LAB – ROOM 306

The Scheduled Lab is at the back of the main commons. During classes we have a wall put up to ensure classes can be completed without disruptions. A large area equipped with 36 Computers and an Instructors Station, this fully A/V equipped room is ideal for classes of 36 or less which require computer access. Instructors are capable of using the provided projector or televisions to display the course content to students. It is recommended that this room be booked ahead of time as it is scheduled for class use throughout the week.

When not scheduled for class use, the wall is taken down and this room is open to students to use and holds various ID study sets. Students can access the computers and desks to study during our hours of operation.

THE SIMULATOR LAB – ROOM 314

The Simulator Lab is home to five permanent simulators along with one portable simulator. They provide programs such as HEO, RDB, and Sustainable agriculture with simulations of real life equipment. The simulators allow our students to gain experience on the  machinery they will be using in the field.
