COVID Vaccinations:

All Fleming College employees are encouraged to take the time to get a COVID vaccine.  Bullet (i) above allows for IDEL to be used for vaccine appointments. Where possible, employees are encouraged to book their vaccination outside of working hours or speak to their supervisor about flexing their hours.  If requesting time away from work to obtain a COVID vaccine, employees must speak with their supervisor.

  • Full-time employees and partial load faculty who are unable to book their vaccination outside of their scheduled work day, or to flex their hours, can use up to ¼ of their work day (without recording it as sick time), as referenced in the Absence Due to Illness Procedurefor their COVID vaccination.
  • Part-time Support Staff and part-time/sessional faculty who do not have access to paid sick time can access the new Infectious Disease Emergency Leave (IDEL) benefit for this specific purpose if they’re unable to book their vaccination outside of scheduled work time or flex their hours to accommodate their vaccine appointment.
  • The college has an obligation to track IDEL time therefore staff are required to capture these hours on timesheets as follows:

o   Part-time Support staff – code 230

o   App D staff – Code 231

o   PT Faculty – Code 232
