Curriculum change is an integral component of maintaining quality programs. The evolution of programs can only be accomplished by continuous monitoring and updating of curriculum and what we teach our students.
There are 2 types of curriculum change:
- Major: this involves a significant overhaul of the program which results in a change to overall hours, or method of instruction by more than 25% of the Ministry approved Program Delivery (PDI).
- Minor: this encompasses a range of possible alternations to a program that overall amount to less than a 25% change to total program hours or method of instruction. These types of changes can be quite broad in scope, ranging from a course title change to multiple additions and removals of courses.
We have done significant work in this area to remove challenges encountered during these processes. We have several resources to aid in the processing of these important modifications to existing programs. Please consult the information below which will detail how to determine which level of approval is required for the changes you are considering.
