Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

The purpose of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) is to ensure
that all Ontarians have fair and equitable access to programs and services and to improve
opportunities for persons with disabilities. The Act will eventually cover all of these areas:

  • Customer service standards
  • Information and communication
  • Employment
  • Transportation
  • Built environment

Students on placement  may work with people with disabilities. If your program requires AODA training before placement, you will need to submit the scoring sheets/certificate from your online AODA training by the deadline for the term in which you go on placement. You will need to take AODA only once and this training does not need to be renewed (unless a new version of the act is released).

You may take the online AODA training here:

*Please remember to either print your scoring sheets and any certificate that may be generated at the end of the training. The certificate and/or scoring sheets must be submitted to Janice Brunetti in room A2 132.4*
