Under the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) the College has an obligation to provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees who have a disability, if the disability is such that the individualized information is necessary and the employer is aware of the need for accommodation due to an employee’s disability.
Any student with special needs for assistance during a building evacuation has the responsibility to make this known to the College and to the Instructor in each of their classes. No procedure covers every emergency. Assess your situation, consider your options and take action.
If you require assistance to evacuate during a fire, an individualized emergency plan can be developed at your request.
