To further enhance accessibility of your PDF, it is important to add document properties and language. To do this, select the main menu and scroll down to Document properties.
This will open the Document properties dialog box.
1. Title and Metadata
- The Title helps screen readers announce the document meaningfully instead of just reading the file name.
- Metadata like Author, Subject, and Keywords provide context and improve searchability for users relying on assistive tech.
2. Initial View
- select the Initial View tab, change Show to “Document Title“.
2. Language Specification
- Setting the document’s language ensures screen readers use the correct pronunciation and reading rules.
- Without it, users may hear mispronunciations or jumbled text—especially in multilingual documents.
- Advanced tab, and change Language in the Reading Options.
