What is a sanction?

A sanction is a consequence that a student receives upon accepting responsibility or being found responsible for breaching/violating the Student Conduct policy. Possible sanctions can include the following alone or in combination:

  • Verbal warning
  • Written reprimand
  • Restorative justice practices
    • Education/workshop
    • Apology letter
    • Reflective exercise
    • Mediation
  • Restitution or fines
  • Behaviour contract
  • Restricted access
  • Suspension
  • Expulsion
