The Student Experience Team hosts transition events such as Welcome Days and New Student Orientation to help new students start their Fleming journey with confidence. Peer Mentorship at Fleming College involves Fleming student volunteers (mentors) who offer new students (mentees) support and guidance designed to cultivate their personal and academic success.

Orientation
Orientation includes sessions on essential services for students, including help to navigate the college Intranet. Students will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and program coordinators as well as their student advisors.
Campus Virtual tours, an a Virtual “Ask Me” desk and many service areas will be set up in the main foyer to talk about supports, available resources and services available virtually Peer Mentors will be on-hand from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during Orientation to answer inquiries and direct students to the various sessions. Students will also have time during Orientation to arrange for their financial aid, one card, books, parking passes, and meal plans.

Welcome Days
Get a jump on September! The first step in making a smooth transition to Fleming College is attending our Virtual Welcome Days in the summer. Welcome Days are designed to introduce you and your parents to student services, provide you an opportunity to meet new students, as well as help you prepare for the fall semester. Welcome Days is hosted in July for the Frost and Sutherland campuses.
Students will have the opportunity to make arrangements for financial aid, parking, meal plans, lockers, one card and more. The college will offer student and parent sessions designed to support the transition to college and we offer virtual tours of the campus, residences and the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre.
Students and their families can even experience what it’s like to stay in residence with accommodation available for one night before or after their visit to the college.

Mentorship
Mentorship is a relationship which fosters the professional and personal growth of both Mentor and Mentee while facilitating collaborative learning and knowledge sharing. The Fleming College Peer Mentorship Program focuses on connecting students through peer to peer support networks, promoting social engagement and exploring personal interests ( Dancing, Photogrpahy, Reading, Walking in Nature). The Peer Mentorship Program currently has several mentor groups:

Bishkaa (Indigenous)
International
General Interest- Dancing, Reading, Photography
