Information for Course Outline Submission for 2025-26

Background

Starting in Spring 2025, full time faculty will be assigned time on their SWF’s to complete course outlines for the 2025-26 Academic Year. This is being done as part of a process to reduce redundant work, and to facilitate the timeliness of approvals.

Course Outline Assignment

Course outline submission will be assigned to faculty with relevant expertise. However, those who are assigned the task of course outline submissions will not necessarily be teaching those courses in 2025-26. To reduce confusion on this point, faculty names will no longer be listed on course outlines.

Course Outline Template

There will be no changes to the course outline template for 2025-26. This means that both the annual and semester course outlines will need to be completed. We are planning to make changes to the annual template and to eliminate the semester course outline for 2026-27.

Course Outline Changes

Following course outline approval in spring of 2025, there should not normally be revisions in subsequent semesters for the following academic year, though this may be possible in some circumstances following a discussion with the Chair. As of 2026-27, the annual course outline will set the expectations for the course for the entire academic year.

Timeline

For Spring 2025, the following due dates will be in effect:

  • May 30: All course outlines submitted by faculty to program/subject coordinator for review.
  • June 6: All course outlines submitted by coordinator to Chair for review.
  • June 13: Chair requests faculty to make any necessary changes prior to start of faculty vacation.
