Can I request to appeal a decision or sanction? What does this process entail?

The College will only consider an appeal based on 2 grounds:

  • If there is personal bias or perceived unfair treatment
  • If there is new information or documentation of extenuating circumstances that was not available at the time of the original investigation

You can appeal both a decision (whether a policy violation was found), or a sanction (the outcome after a policy violation is found). Either party can make an appeal – the person who reported the incident (complainant), or the person who was reported as causing harm (respondent).

Please refer to the Appeal process for more information on the steps involved in submitting an appeal. If you require assistance in submitting an appeal, as with submitting the initial report, you can seek assistance from your Student Administrative Council and/or Frost Student Association.
