This year’s Cyber Month theme is Generation Cyber Safe: Because online security knows no age. Online security affects all Canadians. Every generation is part of Generation Cyber Safe and we’re celebrating how much stronger each generation can be when they come together to stay safe online.

How?

Information Update VDI Service Change – Web Browser Access Discontinued

Attn: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Users

Fleming ITS will be discontinuing web browser access to our VDI environment. As of Monday, VDI users will need to use the VMware Horizon client application to access VDI services.

When?

Monday, September 23rd, 2024.

Why?

These changes are required to maintain the security of the College’s VDI service. The Horizon client application also provides better performance and more features when using VDI.

What’s the impact?

If you are already using the VMware Horizon client to connect, no action is needed.

If you connect to VDI using a web browser, follow these instructions to download, install and configure the Horizon client application on your device.

If you require any assistance with the instructions, please contact the IT Service Desk by visiting our VDI service page and clicking the [ Create Ticket ] button.
