Parking Violation Appeals

Fleming College parking violations may be appealed through the Online Parking Services Portal.

Appeals must be submitted by the registered parking permit holder or registered owner of the licence plate associated with the violation.

Before Submitting an Appeal

Parking violations must be appealed within 15 working days from the date the violation was issued. Appeals submitted after this period may not be considered.

If a parking violation is eligible for a discounted payment rate, the applicable amount and payment deadline will appear on the violation notice or in the Online Parking Services Portal.

Submitting an appeal will cancel any discounted payment rate associated with the violation. If the appeal is denied, the full penalty amount will be due.

How to Submit an Appeal

  1. Sign in to the Online Parking Services Portal.
  2. Locate the parking violation associated with your account or licence plate.
  3. Select the option to appeal the violation.
  4. Provide a clear explanation of why you believe the violation was issued in error.
  5. Attach any relevant supporting documentation or evidence.
  6. Review the information and submit the appeal.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the violation will be cancelled.

Appeal Review

Parking Services will review the information submitted with the appeal along with the available parking and enforcement records.

Fleming College uses Automatic Licence Plate Recognition and supporting system records as official enforcement evidence. In the absence of verifiable evidence demonstrating an error, these records will be considered accurate and reliable.

Parking Services may consider all available system records when reviewing an appeal, including information that may not have appeared on the original violation notice.

The appeal decision will be communicated to the appellant. Appeal decisions are final.

Parking Violation Amounts

Parking fines vary based on the nature and seriousness of the violation.

Payment Requirements

Parking violation penalties must be paid within 15 working days from the date the violation was issued.

Failure to pay within the required period will result in an additional $25 administrative fee being added to the original penalty.

Outstanding parking violations may affect eligibility to purchase or renew a parking permit and may result in further enforcement action.

Parking violations can be viewed and paid through the Online Parking Services Portal.

Municipal Parking Offence Notices

Municipal Parking Offence Notices are administered by the municipality that issued the notice, including the City of Peterborough or the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Payment and dispute instructions are provided directly on the municipal notice. Municipal Parking Offence Notices cannot be paid or appealed through Fleming College or on campus.
