Prior to joining the Fleming team as a student in 1988 then a faculty member in 1990 Mike spent 13 summers fighting forest fires with the Ministry of Natural Resources in Northern Ontario.

Mike’s Fleming College career started in the Forestry program, delivering the Forest Fire Science course and other environmentally based curriculum.

In 2003 Mike landed a permanent teaching position with the Ecosystem Management Program and went on to coordinate the program for close to ten years. Teaching such courses as Urban Ecosystems, Trees & Shrubs of Ontario, Ecosystem Skills and Career Advancement Techniques, Mike brings a strong passion to the profession. He believes that all students are capable of success and will push them to achieve their personal and professional goals.
