Cybersecurity Awareness – Don’t fall for fake grant or job offers

Phishing emails are a regular occurrence, a cyber threat lurking in your inbox. While Fleming makes every effort to reduce phishing emails, no system is perfect, and your awareness is key to protect yourself from phishing scams. Always exercise extra caution with any emails offering grants, bursaries or job offers.

What should you do if you suspect or spot a phish?

  • Report a Phish:Ā In Outlook (desktop or web), click on theĀ [Ā Report a Phish ]Ā button.Ā  After making the report, the email is automatically deleted.
  • If the email appears to be from someone you know, reach out to the sender through a different channel. i.e. Call the sender of the message on the phone and ask them if they sent you the message.
  • If unsure, just remember –Ā When in doubt ā€“ Throw it out!Ā And just delete the email.
