What is it?
Fleming College has launched additional phishing protection features from ourĀ Microsoft Defender for Office 365Ā suite of tools. This software will be used to conduct simulated phishing exercises and provide users with targeted awareness feedback as needed. Most staff can expect to receive approximately one simulated phishing email per month.
Why?
Phishing remainsĀ one of the most common and effective methods used by cybercriminals.Ā Phishing is successful because itĀ targets human behaviour rather than technical vulnerabilities. The goal of launching this new phishing protection platform is to measure risk, improve security awareness, reduce incidents and breaches, and strengthen the Collegeās overall cyber resilience.
ā Ā Did you know? Regular phishing exercises are required under the College’s cybersecurity insurance policy.
How?
Reporting a suspected phishing email (real or simulated) is one of theĀ bestĀ ways you can help protect Fleming College. If something looks suspicious, report it right away;Ā you are a critical part of our cybersecurity program.
