Faculty, HEO program

Having been on the JHSC for my previous employer for 5 years I believe I can add value when it comes to identifying potential hazards in the construction projects and industrial settings. Our HEO program at frost uses the OH&SA daily with a goal to help our students develop a pro-active approach when it comes to health and safety.

Heather Broadbent
Worker Co-Chair (Interim)
Environmental Chemistry Technologist

I have many years of experience working in a chemistry lab setting as well as performing fieldwork in remote locations, as a result, health and safety has always been a priority for me. I joined the committee to further my knowledge and have the opportunity to interact with like-minded individuals that bring their different experiences and perspectives to the table.

Student Success Coach

During my years at Fleming College I have gained experience in health and safety through the coordination and oversight of the Fleming College Field House as well as the inspection of the Fleming College portion of the Trans Canada Trail. I have joined the JHSC to expand my knowledge of the physical campus and to support the health and safety of our campus community.

My experience in facility maintenance and operations allows me to contribute a practical, solutions-focused perspective to the Joint Health and Safety Committee when addressing concerns brought forward by the campus community. Safety is always at the forefront of the work my team performs every day while supporting operations across the College. I am committed to promoting safe practices, identifying potential risks, and ensuring that both my team and the broader community are supported in maintaining a healthy and safe workplace.

Interim Operations Manager

In my previous roles in industry, I have been both the safety auditor and the auditee and have seen firsthand how safe environments boost morale, reduce downtime, and improve efficiency. As the Frost Operations Manager my role depends on these outcomes, so I have a vested interest in improving safety.
