Why?

The Fleming ITS Department now offers  Remote Control Support  to provide faster and more effective technical assistance without requiring an in-person visit.

Staff using Fleming-issued computers can grant IT Service Desk technicians secure remote access to their devices through the TeamViewer application. This allows IT staff to diagnose and resolve issues more efficiently while minimizing disruption to your work.

How?

Visit the TDX Service Portal to request Remote Control Support.

Caution – Be Aware of Fake Support Calls

Cybercriminals posing as legitimate IT support staff may contact you by phone or email and urge you to join a malicious remote access session. If anything seems suspicious, do not accept the remote session invitations or provide any device connection information. Only participate in remote support sessions scheduled through the TDX Service Portal with an authorized member of the Fleming College IT Service Desk team.

Launch of New Phishing Protection Platform

When?

Wednesday, February 11th, 2026

What is it?

Fleming College has launched additional phishing protection features from our Microsoft Defender for Office 365 suite of tools. This software will be used to conduct simulated phishing exercises and provide users with targeted awareness feedback as needed. Most staff can expect to receive approximately one simulated phishing email per month.

Why?

Phishing remains one of the most common and effective methods used by cybercriminals. Phishing is successful because it targets human behaviour rather than technical vulnerabilities. The goal of launching this new phishing protection platform is to measure risk, improve security awareness, reduce incidents and breaches, and strengthen the College’s overall cyber resilience.

✅ Did you know? Regular phishing exercises are required under the College’s cybersecurity insurance policy.

How?

Reporting a suspected phishing email (real or simulated) is one of the best ways you can help protect Fleming College. If something looks suspicious, report it right away; you are a critical part of our cybersecurity program.
