Canada-Ontario Job Grant

The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) provides an opportunity for employers to advance the skills of their new employees or current workforce.

  • Employers can get up to $10,000 per employee for training costs to fill skills gaps in the workplace or up to $15,000 for training and hiring unemployed job seekers.
  • Employers choose the trainees, the training courses, the course length and delivery method, and any eligible third-party trainer course or program.

Work Integrated Learning Digital Program

Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC)Ā Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Digital ProgramĀ is an innovative initiative funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). It helps employers grow their businesses by providing financial assistance for hiring post-secondary students. GREEN JOBS
Green Jobs Program helps job-ready youth gain relevant and meaningful work experience in mining through paid placements or training opportunities that focus on clean technology and innovation, and ultimately provide an environmental benefit to Canada. Placements are delivered through MiHR-approved hiring organizations whose work processes affect positive environmental outcomes.

Ontario Co-operative Education Tax Credit

The Co-operative Education Tax Credit is a refundable tax credit. It is available to Ontario employers who hire students enrolled in a co-operative education program at an Ontario university or college.

The tax credit is based on salaries and wages paid to a student in a co-operative education work placement. Corporations can claim 25% of eligible expenditures (30% for small businesses). The maximum credit for each work placement is $3,000. Most work placements are for a minimum employment period of 10 weeks up to a maximum of four months.
