Frost Campus

Ancillary fees are fees that all students are required to pay in order to enroll in or successfully complete any course or program of instruction. Changes to ancillary fees are approved by your Student Governments and by Fleming’s Board of Governors.

Frost Student Association Ancillary Fees

Fee Name Description
Student Association Transition Fee Provides funding to support initiatives that occur during the first two weeks of each term.  The initiatives may vary from welcome packages to events and activities based on available funding each term.
Student Association Student Experience This fee provides support to the Frost Student Association in facilitating student activities.  The activities may vary depending on student interest.  Activities include guest speakers, complimentary lunches,  workshops, athletic activities and social events.
Student Association Pub Supports the operational costs of the Auk’s Lodge pub.  This fee relates directly to student employment opportunities and hours of operation.
Student Association Governance Supports the Frost Student Association Board of Directors that is comprised of student leaders who provide information and services to students and additionally act as a liaison between students and college administration.  Services include but not limited to the good food box, emergency food cupboard,  health plan, clubs and program presidents.
Student Building Fee ( Auk’s Lodge Operations Fee) Supports the operation and maintenance of the Frost Student Association Student Centre
Student Athletic Fee Provides funding for recreational, intramural and varsity programming at the Frost Campus.
Frost Recreation Building Fund Funds Fieldhouse renovations and maintenance of building and equipment.
Lindsay Recreation Complex Fee Provides students with access to a local fitness center.
Academic Supports Supports the costs associated with student advocacy and academic appeals processes provided by the FSA President and Vice-President throughout the academic year.
Mental Health Fee Additional support for mental health awareness events and support staff.
Health Plan

The Health Plan fee provides the student with health insurance while in college including prescription, dental vision and extended health coverage.

Domestic students may opt out of this fee with proof of coverage.  Details can be found here.

International students can contact international@flemingcollege.ca for any questions relating to the Health Plan.

The fee is paid once per Academic Year.

Student Activity Fee (FSA Operations) Supports the operation and maintenance of the Frost Student Association offices, including office admin, operations bookkeeping and payroll.
Provincial Advocacy Fee This fee was implemented to enable the Frost Student Association along with its Frost and Haliburton campuses to join the College Student Alliance as members. This membership allows the FSA greater access to resources including advocacy at a school and provincial level, resources for leadership building and much more. https://www.collegestudentalliance.ca/

Fleming Ancillary Fees

Fee Name Description
Alumni Fee The Alumni fee supports various initiatives to help current students and alumni succeed in their educational and professional lives, including professional development, networking opportunities and access to a lifetime of discounts and negotiated group rates with insurance, travel and entertainment providers.
Student Achievement & Records Provides for convocation ceremonies and receptions and the production and issuing of diplomas, certificates and transcripts.
Information Technology Fee This fee is used to support student-focused IT services including by not limited to the student portal,  WiFi, high-speed internet access and service desk support.
Health & Counselling Health services provide on-site nursing by a Registered Nurse who supports physician clinics on-campus,  health education and promotion and referrals to specialists and community agencies.  Counselling services offers mental health supports through on-line self-serve resources, walk-in appointments, psycho-educational groups and workshops, and short term supportive counselling.  Mental Health awareness events provide a contribution to a reduction in student waitlists for mental health counselling.
Career Services This service provides assistance with career planning and job search skills,  access to valuable on-line resources, as well as connecting students with work opportunities on and off-campus through the online job board.
Academic Supports Provides services such as tutoring and development of academic skills through small groups,  on-on-one or on a drop-in basis.  Academic transition and integration support services including academic orientation sessions and activities each term, peer supports, co-curricular learning and communications, and guidance through the appeals process.
One Card One Card is the official Fleming College identification card, with the added benefit of access to services both on and off campus. One Card will provide students with access to College services, including point of sale for vending purchases in Residence, on-campus dining (meal plans), laundry, printing/copying, Campus Store purchases, library services, access to the athletic facilities, and other transactions on campus.
