Full-time registered students may work on campus without a work permit if they meet the following requirements:
- have one of the following conditions or remarks printed on your study permit:
- “May accept employment on the campus of the institution at which registered in full-time studies”
- “May accept employment on or off campus if meeting eligibility criteria as per R186(f), (v) or (w). Must cease working if no longer meeting these criteria”
- have a valid study permit;
- be a full-time student at a designated learning institution (DLI);
- have started studying;
- are in a program that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate and is at least six months long;
- have a Social Insurance Number (SIN);
- If you are no longer a full-time student, you may still work on-campus if you:
- have been a full-time student since you started your program in Canada and are now studying part-time only because this is your last semester (and you don’t need a full course-load to complete your program).
You must stop working on-campus on the day you no longer meet the above eligibility requirements (e.g., if you are no longer a full-time student.)
