Scholarships for Spring 2024 students
Global Merit Based International Student Scholarship $500 CAD
Awarded to international students who score a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 4.0 in the first semester of their Fleming diploma, certificate or graduate certificate program.
The merit-based scholarship does not require an application. An email will be sent to your Fleming College email during your second semester by the International Education Office if you qualify for the scholarship. Please follow the instructions in the email to receive the award.
The scholarship is a one-time award.
Latin America Academic Excellence Entry Scholarship $1,250 CAD
Awarded to an international student from Latin America who has achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 59- 64 or a TOEFL score of 58-60) or above as well as a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 75% or above from high school, college or university. The award will be credited upon successful completion of the first semester and registration in the second semester at Fleming.
You are eligible to apply if you:
- started your program in Spring 2024
- are planning to enroll in the second semester of a Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program
- are a citizen from a Latin American country (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana (département of France), Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti)
- have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 59- 64 or a TOEFL score of 58-60) or above
- have GPA of 75% or above in high school, college or university transcripts
India Academic Excellence Entry Scholarship $500 CAD
Awarded to an international student from India who has achieved an overall IELTS score of 8.0 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 79-82 or a TOEFL score of 110-114) or above as well as a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 75% or above from high school, college or university. The award will be credited upon successful completion of the first semester and registration in the second semester at Fleming.
You are eligible to apply if you:
- started your program in Spring 2024
- are planning to enroll in the second semester of a Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program
- are an Indian citizen
- have an overall IELTS score of 8.0 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 79-82 or a TOEFL score of 110-114) or above
- have GPA of 75% or above in high school, college or university transcripts
South Asia Academic Excellence Entry Scholarship $1,000 CAD
Awarded to an international student from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Pakistan who has achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 59- 64 or a TOEFL score of 58-60) or above as well as a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 75% or above from high school, college or university. The award will be credited upon successful completion of the first semester and registration in the second semester at Fleming.
You are eligible to apply if you:
- started your program in Spring 2024
- are planning to enroll in the second semester of a Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program
- are a South Asian citizen (from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Pakistan)
- have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 59- 64 or a TOEFL score of 58-60) or above
- have GPA of 75% or above in high school, college or university transcripts
East Asia Academic Excellence Entry Scholarship $1,250 CAD
Awarded to an international student from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, or Singapore who has achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 59- 64 or a TOEFL score of 58-60) or above as well as a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 75% or above from high school, college or university. The award will be credited upon successful completion of the first semester and registration in the second semester at Fleming.
You are eligible to apply if you:
- started your program in Spring 2024
- are planning to enroll in the second semester of a Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program
- are an East Asian citizen (from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, or Singapore)
- have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 59- 64 or a TOEFL score of 58-60) or above
- have GPA of 75% or above in high school, college or university transcripts
Africa Academic Excellence Entry Scholarships $1,000 CAD
Awarded to
- An international student from East Africa who has achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.0 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 51-58 or a TOEFL score of 60-78) or above as well as a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 60% or above from high school, college or university
and/or
- An international student from West Africa who has achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.0 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 51-58 or a TOEFL score of 60-78) or above as well as a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 60% or above from high school, college or university
and/or
- An international student from Southern Africa who has achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.0 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 51-58 or a TOEFL score of 60-78) or above as well as a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 70% or above from high school, college or university
The award will be credited upon successful completion of the first semester and registration in the second semester at Fleming.
You are eligible to apply if you:
- started your program in Spring 2024
- are planning to enroll in the second semester of a Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program
- are an African citizen
- have an overall IELTS score of 6.0 (equivalent to a PTE Academic score of 51-58 or a TOEFL score of 60-78) or above
- have GPA of 60%(East and West Africa) or 70%(South Africa) or above in high school, college or university transcripts
Global English As A Second Language Bridge (ELB) Entry Scholarship $1,000 CAD
Awarded to an international student who has completed at least one level of Fleming’s English as a Second Language Bridge program (ELB) and has been accepted into a Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program. The award will be credited upon successful completion of the first semester and registration in the second semester at Fleming.
You are eligible to apply if you:
- started your Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program program in Spring 2024
- have completed at least one level of Fleming’s English as a Second Language Bridge program (ELB)
- are planning to enroll in the second semester of a Fleming diploma or graduate certificate program
PLEASE NOTE:
- Students who have started Fleming diploma, certificate or graduate certificate programs in Spring 2024 are eligible to apply for the Entry Scholarships.
- The deadline to apply for Spring 2024 is June 28, 2024. This is a first come first served basis per region for eligible semester 1 students.
- Please check the eligibility criteria for all applications before applying. You will be asked to upload supporting documents and submit your reason of applying for the scholarship.
- Please make sure that you submit transcripts of your high school, college or university degree/diploma that was required at the time of your admission.
- The award will be credited/emailed in the second semester of your program.
- The application doesn’t guarantee the award. Your application will be evaluated, and you will be notified if you are the successful recipient.
