Residence Move-In Checklist:
Have you reviewed/completed:
- The Resident Contract
- The Residence Handbook
- Upload your One Card Photo to the Housing Portal
- Check your Fleming email
- Check your Residence Financials
Suggested Items to Bring with You:
- Clothes/ seasonal outerwear & footwear
- Toiletries (soap, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, Kleenex, Q-tips)
- Posters/Décor (refer to the Decorating Policy in the Residence Handbook – Page 19)
- Towels (bath towels, dish towels and dish cloths)
- Bedding (fitted/flat sheets, pillow, comforter for twin size bed)
- Cooking utensils, dishes, cutlery, plastic containers
- Waste basket for bedroom/bathroom
- Laundry supplies (basket, detergent, dryer sheets)
- First aid supplies (pain reliver, cough syrup, bandages, Polysporin)
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Bicycle and lock (must be stored in bicycle shed in Bldg #2)
- Game Consoles
- Computers
- Mini Fridge for bedroom (No larger than 5 cubic feet)
Items to Discuss Bringing with Your Roommates:
- Small kitchen appliances (toaster, air fryer, kettle)
- Large garbage bags for kitchen garbage
- Cleaning supplies (small vacuum, non-abrasive cleaners, mop/bucket, broom/dustpan, Lysol wipes)
- Board games/ cards/ sports equipment
- Common room décor (refer to the Decorating Policy in the Residence Handbook – Page 19)
Items Supplied by Residence:
- Refrigerator, stove, microwave
- Bedroom furnishings (bed, desk with chair, closet, dresser)
- Towel bar, coat hook and long mirror in bedroom
- Common Room furnishings (love seats and coffee table)
- Kitchen furnishings (kitchen table with chairs)
- Shower curtain and mirror in the bathroom
- Recycling and garbage receptacles in kitchen
- Laundry facilities on site – load Fleming Cash onto your OneCard to operate machines ($2.25 wash & $1.75 dry)
Prohibited Items in Residence:
- String lights for decoration
- Candles
- Nails, tacks, or blue sticky tack on walls (white sticky tack only)
- Wireless routers
- Smart Home Devices (ex: Alexa, Roku, , Google Home, Wifi printers)
- Extra furniture without approval from the Residence office (ex: desk chair, mattress)
Extra Furniture in Residence:
No extra furniture is permitted without prior approval from the Residence Office. For those students requiring additional support (mattress or desk chair) a doctors note before arrival will be required. Residence Life Management will review and approve requests prior to move in.
