Suite – Residence Move Out Cleaning Guide

This guide was put together to help you with your final move out cleaning. We suggest your talk with your suitemates to figure out when they are moving out. This way if they are leaving early they can complete cleaning tasks before they leave. As indicated in the Student Handbook, students are individually responsible for their bedroom and collectively responsible for the common areas.

To receive an ‘Excellent’ cleaning rating your suite/bedroom must be left so that no additional cleaning is required as determined by residence staff during their inspection.

ENTRANCE, KITCHEN & SEATING AREA

Kitchen cupboards and drawers emptied and wiped out

Fronts of cupboards and counter wiped clean

Kitchen sink clean and fixture cleaned and free of buildup

2 plugs left in sink

Stove top and drip pans are cleaned, lift up top to clean underneath

Stove hood is wiped clean (top and underneath)

Oven is cleaned with no traces of cleaner left

Oven drawer is emptied and wiped out

Stove and fridge pulled out to clean floor and walls

No items are left in the fridge/freezer

Fridge/freezer interior and exterior have been cleaned

Microwave interior and exterior have been cleaned

Garbage, recycling and compost bins are emptied, bins are cleaned out

Kitchen/hallway floor washed

Kitchen table is wiped down, chairs are put back

Carpet is thoroughly vacuumed, including along baseboard

Any upholstered furniture is vacuumed, wood frame is wiped down

Clean windows on inside

Window sill wiped clean

Drapes are in good condition

Common area furniture is put back in its original location

All garbage and items have been removed

Coffee table is wiped down, remote and cable box left on top

BATHROOMS – 123/SMALL

Bathroom cupboards empty and wiped out

Bathroom sink clean and fixture cleaned and free of buildup

Tub/Shower stall cleaning (no mildrew or scum)

Tub/Shower faucet and controls cleaned

Toilet cleaned (in and out)

Walls have been wiped down

Floor has been washed

All garbage and items have been removed

BATHROOMS – 456/LARGE

Bathroom cupboards empty and wiped out

Bathroom sink clean and fixture cleaned and free of buildup

Tub/Shower stall cleaning (no mildrew or scum)

Tub/Shower faucet and controls cleaned

Toilet cleaned (in and out)

Walls have been wiped down

Floor has been washed

All garbage and items have been removed
