Residence Life Staff Applications

We are looking for students who are passionate about Residence Life and are ready to leave their mark at Fleming College. The role of Residence Life Staff can be demanding; so we are looking for individuals that are full of energy and enthusiasm! This role requires people who can manage their own studies, personal growth and social life while also helping other students, as both an individuals and as a group.

Our Residence Life Management Team strives to develop a strong supportive environment for future leaders. Every year, our departing staff tell us that the memories and experiences had during their time as Residence Life Staff will stay with them forever. We believe that working and living in residence is one of the best leadership opportunities available to students on campus. Positions Available:

  1. Residence Assistant (RA) – a live-in student staff member who oversees an assigned area of residence. Please view RA Job Description for role details.
  2. Senior Residence Assistant (SRA) – a live-in senior student staff who provides peer-to-peer coaching and guidance for the Residence Assistant team. Please view SRA Job Description for role details.

Position Requirements:

  1. Current enrolment as a Fleming College student in good standing.
  2. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, maintained each semester of employment.
  3. Required to live in residence in an assigned room, as determined by Housing Services
  4. Demonstrated success and ability to provide living and learning advising to other students including peer mentoring and academic guidance.
  5. A demonstrated commitment to, or interest in, inclusion and equity with experience providing coaching and social support to enable students to persist.
  6. Excellent interpersonal communication, planning and time management skills.
  7. Ability to develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with students and staff.
  8. Standard First Aid & CPR
  9. A clear police record check with vulnerable sector screening
