I have a Reader and/or Scribe as part of my test accommodations. How will this work with online testing? (COVID-19)

Students requesting Reader/Scribe for a test will be scheduled with an AES Invigilator. Your test will be arranged using WebEx software, allowing screensharing and keyboard control for the Invigilator to read and/or scribe during your test. Students will be scheduled with a Navigation appointment prior to the test day to become comfortable with the testing process. The day before your test you will receive a WebEx email invite from your AES Invigilator with the link to access your test appointment.

Will my assistive software (e.g. TextHelp, Dragon) work with my online test? (COVID-19)

TextHelp and Dragon software do not work with tests set up using Lockdown or Respondus Monitor. If you require any of these programs for your test, please schedule your test with AESTesting. Your test will be arranged using WebEx software allowing screensharing for the Invigilator during your test. Students will be scheduled with a Navigation appointment prior to test day to become comfortable with the testing process. The day before your test you will receive a WebEx email invite from your AES Invigilator with the link to access your test appointment.

I have music as a test accommodation. How do I use it with Respondus Monitor? (COVID-19)

Students with Music as part of their testing accommodations should book their test with AESTesting if your professor has set the test up using Respondus Monitor. AESTesting will send an email to you and your professor with instructions for the test day. During the test start up process, students will be required to display in their monitor the device they will using. Students are required to listen to their music aloud during the test, they must not use earbuds or headsets.

My professor says my test is UDL (extra time factored in). Do I still need to book my test with AESTesting? (COVID-19)

If extra time is the only test accommodation you require for the test, you do not need to enter a test request with AESTesting. If you have double time and/or additional testing accommodations that you will require, please enter your test request to ensure your accommodations are in place on test day.

I can’t get into my test? Now what? (COVID-19)

Contact your professor ASAP to let them know what has happened. Your professor will contact AESTesting and/or the Test Centre for immediate support to resolve the issue.

I’m really struggling with online testing. What should I do? (COVID-19)

Students should contact their AES Counsellor, as there may be additional support and/or test accommodations available.

How many tests can I book at one time?

You can book multiple tests using the online Accommodated Testing Services. Using your course outlines, you are able to book all tests for the semester should you choose.

After I hit submit, I realized I booked my test for the wrong day. What should I do?

If you have entered the wrong day or time to write your test contact your AES Testing Centre and they will support you in changing your test information.

I am having a hard time booking my test online. The system won’t let me book my test.

  • Are you are booking your test within the booking period of 1 week (7 calendar days)? If you are over this time requirement you will not be able to book.
  • If you are using a Mac computer with Safari web browser, try using a different browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
  • Review your information: are you booking for the correct class (pay careful attention to codes C, S and L) and instructor information.
