Harassment, Discrimination and Human Rights Accommodation

CommitmentĀ

The Ontario Human Rights Code (the ā€œCodeā€) states that it is public policy in Ontario to recognize the dignity and worth of every person and to provide equal rights and opportunities without discrimination. Fleming College is committed to creating a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the dignity and worth of each person, so that each person feels a part of and able to contribute to the College.Ā Ā

Harassment and Discrimination are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The College is expected to be a safe and positive space where members of the College community feel able to work, learn and express themselves in an environment free from harassment and discrimination.

The College is committed to providing inclusive, barrier-free employment. Sometimes, one individualā€™s accommodation requests may come in conflict with another personā€™s legally protected rights. Where there is a conflict between two rights, the College will attempt to find a solution that is satisfactory to both parties which minimizes the infringement and maximizes the fulfillment of each personā€™s rights.Ā Ā
