Return to Work/Medical Accommodation

Return to Work & Medical or Disability Related Accommodations

The College is committed to making every effort to provide accommodation to employees in their efforts to return to work after an illness or injury and/or who require workplace accommodations due to disability. Our policy on Return-to-Work/Medical Accommodation (RTW/MA) is guided by principles as outlined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005). The College is committed to ensuring its policies, procedures and practices promote the principles of independence, dignity, integration and equal opportunity.

A successful RTW/MA plan fosters cooperation and partnership among all key players, including the employee, the supervisor, Human Resources, Union representatives, the health professional, Sun Life and WSIB. This page contains information for employees and supervisors regarding the College’s RTW/MA program, policy, procedures and forms.

Supervisors will work with their HR Consultants to develop appropriate plans to effectively manage absences, return-to-work, and medical accommodations.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the program, please contact the Human Resources Consultant designated for your Department or School.
